Osama A. Samad ASSOCIATE

For all of his professional life, Osama has been passionate about civil rights and human rights stemming from a background that gives him a unique and up-close perspective upon which to draw. To his credit, he has managed to incorporate these values and priorities into his work, whether it be in internships and volunteer capacities, or now, as an associate at the Law Office of Faye Riva Cohen. This client-centered attribute is certain to be appreciated by his clients and those of the firm.

Osama’s exposure to various industries allows for flexibility in problem-solving and a unique ability to bring multiple perspectives to the table. He stands out for the seriousness, focus and integrity he brings to his work as evidenced by these accomplishments early in his career:

  • Represented employees who were wrongfully terminated due to disability, ethnicity, race, and gender
  • Negotiated and reviewed severance agreements
  • Investigated allegations of abuse in prisons within the state of Georgia where he became well-versed in the inner workings of civil rights litigation and was on the lookout for exposure to new thinking and approaches as taught by experts in the field
  • Assisted in investigating data leaks and notifying the appropriate impacted parties, while honing his analytical approach to statutory requirements, data privacy and best practices
  • Reviewed and negotiated intellectual property agreements in order to ensure that in negotiations all IP rights were protected
  • Learned first-hand how regulatory changes can have multiple impacts and repercussions upon a company’s processes and offerings, while serving as a programmer for a leading health care company during the early years of the Affordable Care Act’s implementation.

Osama obtained his Juris Doctor from Emory University, and his BS in Biology from Temple University.
